I went on my first solo trip recently. I spent a month travelling around Japan. I stayed in 11 different hotels in 10 different cities over 29 nights (plus two nights in the air). It was by far the best holiday I’ve ever been on. What follows is a little summary of my experiences, what it was like to travel alone, and what I’ll do differently next time. Planning the trip This was to be my second Japan trip—I previously visited for two weeks in December 2023—so I’d already ticked off many of the big ticket items.
